LESSONS IN LIBATIONS

I'm a Colorado native and I love exploring all of the beauty this state has to offer. While attending CSU in Fort Collins, I participated in my first Tour de Fat; New Belgium brewery's traditional costumed bike parade. Sunshine Wheat and Fat Tire opened my eyes to the wonderful world of craft beer and I've been passionate about it ever since. It's a wonderful thing to see how much the beer scene has grown since then and I am thrilled to be sharing some of it with you as the beer buyer at Atlas Valley Purveyors. I consider myself a local as I came to CU in 1990 and never left the Boulder area.  While I spent time as an Aerospace Engineer and Software Engineer, my passion has always been wine.  I have been a wine enthusiast for 35+ years and have visited over 1000 wineries, mainly in the Pacific Northwest.  I received Executive Sommelier training through the International Wine Guild, which emphasizes service and food-pairings.  I spend my spare time doing informal wine training, podcasts, or reading wine research papers.  My perspective and approach to wine has always been to think of wine as a “sauce” that goes with your meal. I pride myself in helping you find wines in a style that you like, but that also pairs well with your menu or occasion.   I started with Atlas Valley Purveyors in 2020 and have enjoyed meeting the community and helping them find the right wines for them.  Thanks for letting me serve you.

 I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and after graduating moved to the Western Slope of Colorado. After finding a part time job at a local liquor store, I was immediately infatuated with all libations and the history surrounding them. I'm blessed to be two decades into a career in an industry I'm passionate about. From dissecting the origins of a bottle to enjoying the artistry of a spirit, I will never stop absorbing every interesting detail.  Alcohol and customer service are passions of mine and I look forward to sharing them with you here at
